February 27 marks Pokémon Day, though many fans would say every day can feel like Pokémon Day. The series has been part of many childhoods, from afternoons spent watching the anime to long hours exploring regions in the games. Years later, the same characters continue to resonate with longtime fans while a new generation discovers them through shows, cards, and video games.
The appeal spans generations and interests, from casual viewers to dedicated collectors. During our search for locally made Pokémon-inspired finds, we came across Rairai Shop (@rairai.shop on Instagram), a local shop offering creative merchandise inspired by familiar characters from the franchise.

One of the highlights is their Pokéfriends shaped tote bags. These totes are designed in the likeness of fan-favorite Pokémon and are priced at ₱800 each. You’ll find a mix of beloved characters at the shop, from classic starters to fan favorites. Several starter Pokémon from different generations are part of the lineup, including Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Mudkip, Piplup, Oshawott, Rowlet, Litten, and Sprigatito. Fans of Eevee will also recognize its popular evolutions such as Leafeon, Umbreon, and Espeon.
The selection also highlights some of the franchise’s most recognizable and adorable characters like Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Togepi, and Psyduck. Longtime fan favorites such as Snorlax and Ditto also appear in the collection, alongside mysterious and ghostly Pokémon like Gengar and Mimikyu. Last March 14, the shop added a Glaceon tote to the growing roster.
