Philippines Named as One of the Most Racist Countries in the World
Recent data from the World Value Survey shows that the Philippines is one of the most racist countries in the world.
This survey basically asked people what kinds of people they wouldn’t want to live near and then counted the amount of people who chose ‘people of a different race’ for each country. Apparently, societies, in which people wouldn’t want to live near other races are considered to be more racially intolerant.
Philippines Named as One of the Most Racist Countries in the World
The global social attitudes study claims that the most racially intolerant populations are all in the developing world, with Jordan and India in the top five.
While the country with the most racially intolerant people is Jordan, with 51.4% not wanting to live near another race, India is close behind with 43.5%. The Philippines lies in the 20 to 29.9% bracket along with other countries like Thailand, France, Malaysia, Bangladesh and Hong Kong; only below counties such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Vietnam, Indonesia, South Korea in the 30-39.% bracket.
The most racially tolerant countries are mostly Western countries, such as Britain, Canada, Australia and the U.S. In fact, only 3.8% of U.S. residents are reluctant to live near another race.
What are your thoughts on this? Are we Filipinos really that racist?

racist but, they are just making fun out it. we are not taking it seriously .unlike other nationals who are hardcore racist.
As a foreigner living in the philippines I must say hogwash! This study is bollocks. One may not want to live near people of other races for a variety of reasons (including generalizations and stereotypes) but by no means does this mean that doing so would be objectionable or result in violent reactions
I would be the first to say this, but most Filipinos are fucking dumb nowadays, Only a population of unenlightened halfwits could turn this country into a huge shopping mall. They are the only ones capable of destroying this country. We have a flawed culture, a contradictory society and a nation living in misery and slavery. For those people who would say look at the bright side, even if you have a cake and your cake tastes like shit, would you accept it blindly? No, we need to wake up. This is just a survey, but we must wake up, WAKE UP. Kailangan ba tayong mag untog sa pader para magising sa katotohanan?
We need to redefine ourselves as a people and as a nation. We need to rid of our disgusting cultural values and destroy the bad traditions and societal norms. This article, although the headline is click-bait is quite interesting. We deserved our own misery, our destiny, our tragedy and insanity. We got the government we deserve and the culture we deserve. This is why Filipinos would never progress in an intellectual level because they are hindered by cultural traits such as this one. Everyone is a little bit racist, but Filipinos excel at it. Sometimes, I only think that a revolution could cleanse this country of fifth.
A political, social, cultural, economic, information and a democratic revolution. The end result would be a country of free men, like what Bonifacio, Rizal and the revolutionaries wanted except Aguinaldo and his cohorts which represents our culture of betrayal. Unfortunately, hope is fading and their ideals are dying. Our religion made it worse, we continue to act like hypocrites under the dictates of a few clergymen. For those who are concerned in this country, we must enlighten the population, even if we will offend them. They could either be a free man or a slave.
We have a society of people who treats reading as a chore, which ostracised intellectuals, racists, followers of the stupid media, hypocrites, idiotic voters and overall an oligarchy masquerading as a republic, a tyranny voted by the majority. We need to revive the Revolution of 1896 and continue its struggle of a true republic.
By the way, we have a tendency to copy the negative cultural traits of other countries. Filipinos need to adopt the culture of Scandinavia, Japan and Switzerland.
Well, I am a white American who has been to the Philippines several times and it always seemed to me that people went out of their way to be friendly to me. Am I mistaken? The reason I love to come to the Philippines is because the people are so friendly. I mostly spend time in Negros, mainly Bacolod “the city of smiles” . Never once felt someone didn’t like me because of my race. Quite the opposite actually.
wow can’t believe how many people are justifying that this isn’t racism.
