Philippines Named as One of the Most Racist Countries in the World
Recent data from the World Value Survey shows that the Philippines is one of the most racist countries in the world.
This survey basically asked people what kinds of people they wouldn’t want to live near and then counted the amount of people who chose ‘people of a different race’ for each country. Apparently, societies, in which people wouldn’t want to live near other races are considered to be more racially intolerant.
Philippines Named as One of the Most Racist Countries in the World
The global social attitudes study claims that the most racially intolerant populations are all in the developing world, with Jordan and India in the top five.
While the country with the most racially intolerant people is Jordan, with 51.4% not wanting to live near another race, India is close behind with 43.5%. The Philippines lies in the 20 to 29.9% bracket along with other countries like Thailand, France, Malaysia, Bangladesh and Hong Kong; only below counties such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Vietnam, Indonesia, South Korea in the 30-39.% bracket.
The most racially tolerant countries are mostly Western countries, such as Britain, Canada, Australia and the U.S. In fact, only 3.8% of U.S. residents are reluctant to live near another race.
What are your thoughts on this? Are we Filipinos really that racist?

To sum up my long comment, the Philippines needs to change, I am even open to a revolution if there are no other options. We need to reevaluate out culture and values. Individual change is overrated, it is time for us to discuss this. A national rebirth is necessary to purge this nation of bad traditions and move forward into a future, a strong and prosperous Philippines respected by the international community for its true achievements and a highly independent people who can think for themselves and the betterment of their community without the blindness of the current Pinoy pride nationalism. A country which respects diversity amongst its peoples, overall a modernised Philippine state ruled by men who are the most competent for the job (It may abolish large scale democracy for a while in favour for a government which values intelligence, passion, ideas, rationality and a strong will as a basis for an individual to advance himself in the larger society as a whole).
OK I would just like to point out that this survey was done almost a year ago. It is extremely unfair to be putting up surveys that is not even current to our year! This article is bias and is misleading towards its readers. However if you really want to know how racist everyone almost a year ago go to this website! This one is more credible than this one. And I’m not being racist, I just prefer news sites that are much more credible. https://m.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldviews/wp/2013/05/15/a-fascinating-map-of-the-worlds-most-and-least-racially-tolerant-countries/
It sucks thinking of the fact that these fortunate individuals to TOP on the standards of Filipinos [color, race classification] aren’t the ones who are the most racist at all. Dapat nga sana, yong mga Caucasians [living in Europe, US] yong mga racist, kase, the odds aren’t against them, they’re physically and naturally presentable in terms of their facial shape, nose structure and stuff. Pero in the end of the day, they aren’t the racist ones at all, the racist ones are the ones who belongs to countries who are not as fortunate as those countries who has stable economic condition, better looks [in Filipino standards]. This is a big slap on our faces na kahit yong mga taong considered as “better looking” and “wealthier” in our own standards aren’t the racist ones at all, ironically, those are the countries who weren’t even able to prove their greatness, those unfortunate countries belonging to the 3rd world countries. Tsaka yong mga 1st world countries nga hindi racist, tayo pa kaya. Our culture have been slowly and slowly transforming for the worse.
most of pinoy has an offensive words like bisaya, ita, igorot, intsik, bumbay etc.
I think that this study is only targeting an expression of racism which is the unwillingness to live next to someone of a different ethnicity.
