PH Arnis Team Ends SEA Games Run With 22 Medals

The Philippines Arnis team has ended their stint in the 30th Southeast Asian Games with a monumental 22 medals. It is a huge contribution to the total medal tally of Team Philippines, who is still currently leading by a wide margin.

(Philippines Makes A Strong Start At SEA Games 2019 With 42 Medals)

Dexter Bolambao set the pace for the medal haul by winning the team’s first gold in the men’s bantamweight division. Teammates Mike Bañares, Niño Mark Talledo, Villardo Cunamay, and Jezebel Morcillo all followed with their first-place finishes on the first day.

The second day saw Abegail Abad, Jedah Mae Soriano, Sheena del Monte, Carloyd Tejada, Elmer Manlapas and Jesfer Huquire all claiming gold for the country. On the third and last day, Crisamuel Delfin and Mary Allin Aldeguer added to the sum of gold medals with one each of their own.

Jude Oliver Marie Rodriguez, Mark David Puzon, Ryssa Jezel Sanchez, and Billy Joel Valenzuela also brought pride to the Philippines by winning silver medals. Erlin Mae Busacay and Eza Rai Yalong pitched in with bronze medals.

The Philippines’ arnis martial artists continue to stand as the most decorated team in the contingent. They exit the SEA games with 14 golds, 6 silvers and 2 bronzes.
