It was announced earlier today that the massive Philippine Arena in Bulacan will soon be converted into a quarantine facility for COVID-19 cases. The Philippine Arena is the biggest indoor arena in the world at 99,000 square meters. It can fit over 50,000 people.

Vince Dizon, the President of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), thanked Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) for offering to use the Philippine Arena for this purpose.

It was also announced earlier today that the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila, the World Trade Center (WTC) and the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay will be used to treat and monitor the health of COVID-19 patients. These three facilities should be ready for use within the next 10 days.

Dizon clarifies that this is being done to stop the spread of the virus in the Philippines since our hospitals are slowly filling up and they need to prioritize those with severe needs. Dizon also states that staying in these government facilities will be free of charge. They will also be air-conditioned and offer free WiFi courtesy of PLDT and Smart.
