American actor and filmmaker John Krasinski has been named PEOPLE Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” this year!

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the 45-year-old actor revealed that he was surprised when he heard he was receiving the title.
“Just immediate blackout. Zero thoughts. Other than maybe I’m being punked. That’s not how I wake up usually, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I’ll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You really raised the bar for me,” he said.
For those wondering, Krasinski is widely known for his role as Jim Halpert on the popular American sitcom The Office. He also starred in films such as Nobody Walks, Big Miracle, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
He served as the director and co-writer of the 2018 blockbuster horror film A Quiet Place and its 2020 sequel, A Quiet Place Part II.
For his contributions to film and television, Krasinski was named one of Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World.” He has received numerous accolades, including two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Critics’ Choice Awards, and two Saturn Awards.
The multi-award-winning actor is married to British star Emily Blunt, and together, they have two children.
Outside of acting, Krasinski enjoys being a devoted husband and father and spending time binge-watching documentaries.
“It’s a phenomenal thing to get to be in this family and be a dad. It’s changed my life entirely,” he said.
PEOPLE began its “Sexiest Man Alive” list in 1985, recognizing “very handsome, talented, and charitable men” through the years. Previous titleholders include Patrick Dempsey, Chris Evans, Paul Rudd, Michael B. Jordan, David Beckham, and more.
