It’s been more than a decade since the first High School Musical film from Disney Channel was released, which ended up becoming a global sensation and spawned a trilogy, the last of which became a highly successful theatrical release. Yet even as majority of the cast are now well into their 30’s and other younger teen stars have since landed fame on Disney Channel, we’ve never really gotten over the amazing phenomenon that was HSM.
And now, more than 10 years since Troy, Gabriella, and the rest of the East High Wildcats have sung their way into our hearts saying “We’re All In This Together”, High School Musical is coming back — as a TV show!
While no word about casting has been out yet, what we do know is that the show will be released on Disney’s own streaming service.
While it’s unlikely that the likes of Zac Efron will ever make a return (he ditched the anniversary special, remember?
), we’d be more than happy to see anyone from the original cast return, if only to confirm our Troyella fantasies.
