After a two-month hiatus from their once-a-week practice, the Gilas team is back for their Olympic practice sessions.

June Mar Fajardo, Marc Pingris, Terrence Romeo, and LA Tenorio were among the 13 players that showed up for the first practice session of the team since the two-month break that gave way for the PBA cup.

Notable absentees were Greg Slaughter, Ranidel de Ocampo, Paul Lee,and Ian Sangalang.

With only four months to prepare for the Olympics Qualifying Tournament, Gilas coach Tab Baldwin and his coaching staff were in full force for the training. But with the Commissioner’s cup still on, the Gilas pool can’t give their 100% in the practices.

The Philippines will go up against France, New Zealand, Canada, Senegal and Turkey in the Manila OQT; only one country can make it to the Rio Olympics.

Gilas faces France on July 5, then new Zealand the following day.

With only four months left before the Olympics, should the Gilas team do more practice sessions?
