The National Youth Congress (NYC) proudly marks its 21st year with the theme โFrom the Ground Up: Youth as the Cornerstone of People-Centered Development.โ Taking place from March 22 to 24, 2025, at UP Diliman, NYC 21 emphasizes that active citizenship starts long before voting age. It empowers young leaders to become changemakers by fostering awareness of good governance at the grassroots level. Through civic consciousness, critical thinking, and problem-solving, NYC equips students with the tools needed for nation-building.
NYC is a three-day economics forum that gathers the nationโs brightest high school students. Organized by students from the UP School of Economics and the UP Economics Society, it serves as a platform for youth involvement in national development. By introducing students to fundamental economic concepts and real-world applications, NYC inspires the next generation of leaders as one of the countryโs largest and most prestigious high school congresses. In its 21st iteration, NYC welcomes around 200 delegates from over 20 public and private schools nationwide.
The event features keynote talks, skill-building workshops, and an opportunities fair, alongside highly engaging competitions in idea pitching, quiz bee, essay writing, and visual arts. Delegates are also invited to partake in the Amazing Race, Socials Night, and a field trip for immersive learning.
