The Philippines is on the top of the list of South East Asian countries when it comes to smoking. That’s not something to be proud of, but it is something to think about. As such, Pumped Up Pranks made a social experiment in Baguio City about how smokers would react if a little kid asked for a cigarette.

Pumped Up Pranks let the kids, Sam and Sammy, speak to the smokers. They weren’t given any canned materials to say. They just wanted to show what the kids have to say about smokers and how smokers would react to them. What Pumped Up Pranks wants to show people is how the actions of adults affect the way that younger minds think.
People commented on the video with mixed reactions. Some people were really glad about it and some suggest that Pumped Up Pranks should mind their own business and quit bothering smokers (since this is not their first anti-smoking campaign). Well, Pumped Up Pranks’ producer responded with this: “You can’t really ignore the fact that this affects all of us, whether you like it or not”.
The idea of this experiment came from a Thai anti-smoking ad. The difference is that the kids weren’t given any scripts, nothing was staged, and all of the things you heard and witnessed in the photo above are part of the reality we are currently living in.
