On May 20, P.O.S. Inc released a statement confirming the P-pop girl group’s end of promotional activities at the end of the month.

“After carefully considering the sustainability of the management structure, the future operating environment, and the various conditions necessary to continue supporting the group in a stable manner, we have come to the conclusion that it would be difficult to continue MNL48’s activities going forward,” the statement read.

“As management, we have done our utmost to carry MNL48 forward in the best possible way,” it added. “We deeply apologize for not being able to fully meet everyone’s expectations in the end.

As a “parting gift” for fans, the management released the music video for Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie on YouTube. The music video has been marked as the group’s final work.

“To all the fans who have continuously supported MNL48, to every member who has been part of this journey, and to everyone involved with the group, we extend our deepest gratitude,” the management wrote.

It concluded: “We deeply express our heartfelt gratitude once again for all the love and support you have given to MNL48 over the years.”

Following the confirmation of their disbandment, fans expressed their love and support to the group.

“Every gathering must eventually come to an end, but now that the end has come, I realize how painful it is to say goodbye. So instead of goodbye, I’ll simply say thank you for everything,” a fan wrote on the comment section of their music video Pag-Ibig Fortune Cookie.

Another netizen commented: “I started my PPOP fangirling journey with MNL48. Thank you, MNL48, for all the memories.”

Debuted in 2018, MNL48 is dubbed one of the first P-pop groups to help pave the way for a new generation of Filipino pop music. The group originally debuted with 48 members and is divided by generations.
