The first four official entries to the 2026 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) have finally been revealed.

On July 7, MMFF revealed the official entries at a mall in San Juan. The first four entries feature a mix of genres and star-studded celebrities.
Among the first four entries introduced was GMA Pictures’ “Amir, starring Dennis Trillo, Will Ashley, Argus Aspinas, and Glaiza de Castro. The film is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Zig Dulay, the creative behind popular award-winning MMFF entries “Firefly” and “Green Bones.”
Aga Muhlach is also returning to the big screen with “2nd Miracle in Cell Number 7,” a sequel to the 2019 Filipino adaptation of the Korean drama.
MMFF will not be complete without a horror film added to the mix! Joey De Guzman’s “Haunted Carnival” features an ensemble cast led by Julia Barretto, Maricel Soriano, John Arcilla, James Reid, and Fyang Smith.
Finally, Vice Ganda and Vic Sotto will team up in Jun Robles Lana’s “The Greatest Showdown.”
Aside from giving fans and moviegoers an early look at some of the upcoming entries, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairperson and MMFF chair Atty. Don Artes announced that ticket prices for the festival will be capped at P299.
The P299 ceiling is the maximum ticket price, which means that some cinemas can charge lower rates. Moreover, the reduced ticket prices will apply to all official entries of this year’s MMFF.
The 2026 MMFF runs from December 25, 2026 until January 2027.
