Miss Eco International Kathleen Paton

Miss Philippines Kathleen Paton wins Miss Eco International 2022 in a ceremony held in Egypt on March 17, 2022 (March 18, Philippine time).

She is the second Philippine representative to win the title following Cynthia Thomalla, who won in 2018.

Her runners-up include Chloe Reweghs from Belgium (1st runner-up), Jassy Peralta from the USA (2nd runner-up), Lucia Morales from Spain (3rd runner-up), and Prasana Shri from Malaysia (4th runner-up).

Paton is a 24 year old Australian-Filipino model. She graduated business management at the Victoria University in Australia. Previously, she won Miss Manila in 2018.

She was born and raised in Boracay.

In her introduction video, she said, “Due to our geographical location, we are visited by an average of 20 typhoons and storms a year, wreaking havoc wherever it lands. Scientists around the world agree that climate change has a huge impact on typhoons. That’s why my aim as Miss Eco Philippines is to inspire people to join this movement and educate them in saving our planet Earth.”

Paton described herself as a “passionate advocate for mental health awareness and conserving the environment.”

She also shared that she wants to have a sustainable and eco-friendly business that helps her community.

On Instagram, she said that meeting her pageant sisters is the best part. She wrote, “Meeting all my sisters here is the best part. Meeting such beautiful and empowered women and with kind hearts — all advocating for tourism and environmental awareness which we should all.”

Miss Eco International describes itself as an “international beauty competition that brings together representatives of different cultures and traditions from all over the world. Its main objective is to promote the importance of saving our planet environmentally in addition to marketing tourism across the world.”

It adds, “This competition focuses on the wellness of the mind, body, and spirit of all the candidates that represent all the countries from all over the world.”
