After the whole Miss Universe 2015 awarding gaffe, there has been much heat surrounding the win of our dear Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach. Yet when the storm has passed now comes the calm, and those involved in the competition have gracefully sent their well wishes, such as Miss Germany and first runner-up Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez.
However, this Instagram post by Miss Malaysia, Vanessa Tevi, just warmed our hearts! Not only is she genuinely and extremely happy for Pia’s win, it seems that the two have stricken a lovely friendship and sisterhood throughout the pageant! Miss Malaysia had some very sweet things to say about the new Miss Universe, and even says that Pia will go on to become the “best” titleholder yet! She also reminisced about what she and her “Miss Universe sister” bonded over:
“No more dancing to ‘Hotline Bling’ together, no more secretly laughing because we’re trynna understand what @maybaranithaw (Miss Myanmar May Barani Thaw) & @jessica.xueyunfang (Miss China Jessica Xue) had just said, no more taking turns to releasing the kraken, & no more chance of me interviewing you about how it’s like being Binibini Phillipines (sic). Gosh, missing you already!”
It’s no wonder then that Pinoys have been showering all sorts of love back to the Malaysian beauty! Can someone say #TeamAsia?
Sounds like total BFF material. Hey Miss Malaysia, we’d love to have you over the Philippines some time!
