Misibis Bay Resort and Casino: A Luxurious Way to Experience Bicol

Given the luxurious reputation of the resort, it is normal to have high expectations of the food. Our booking came with full-board meals served in a buffet setup. There wasn’t a wide selection from the buffet spread, but most of the food we had was sumptuous. The meals are served at the Spice Market Restaurant. If you feel like grabbing drinks, you can head to the pool bar or Sula Bar.

Once you have completed the City Tour, I believe that there is nothing much to do outside of the resort. Fortunately, those who are in for the thrill will not end up being frustrated as Misibis Bay offers an amalgam of activities that will surely keep you busy during your stay there.

The package that we had gave us free access to many of the recreational activities. We tried their snorkeling amidst the heat of the afternoon sun. The snorkeling site has one of the most beautiful and colorful school of fishes I have ever seen. I did the Segway tour for 15 minutes and got on a jet ski for 30 minutes. I also rode the ATV going to the hilltop.

Our group also did the sunset cruise, which entailed spending an hour on a boat that went around the area to see a coal mining site, limestone formations, and of course, the majestic view of Mayon Volcano. Its perfect cone shape becomes even more adorable when looked at from the middle of the sea with the setting sun in the background.

Fun-filled activities while in Misibis

While many other hotels would have their infinity pool, restaurant, or room as their pièce de résistance, I found that Misibis Bay‘s highlight is their customer service. While the facilities of the resort deserve high commendation, it is the accommodating spirit of their employees that really topped off the entire experience for me. They will always greet you with a smile and will give you free bottled water when you need one. Yes, bottled water is for free anywhere you are in the resort aside from the complimentary ones from the room.

Misibis Bay Resort & Casino is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, putting it in the ranks of Discovery Shores in Boracay, Eskaya Beach Resort & Spa in Bohol, and Pangalusian Island Resort in El Nido.

While many people would visit the region for Calaguas and Caramoan, I recommend that you also see Misibis the next time you head to Bicol. They also have day tour packages, in case you do not want to spend any money on overnight accommodations.

If you want to splurge on your vacation, Misibis should be on your list! Bicolano hospitality coupled with good food and excellent amenities will surely make the splurge worth it!
