Calaguas: 5 Reasons to Love This Beautiful Island
When in Manila and wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle, check out calaguaslocal.com and book yourself a trip to the beautiful island of Calaguas in Camarines Norte, Bicol.
It’s a long drive out, far away from the busy city and most of all, it’s out of any telco’s coverage area – definitely an escape from whatever it is you want to run away from.
Aside from the warm welcome that you’ll get from Calaguas Local‘s staff, you’re sure to have the peace you’ve always wanted, as well.
Here is Andy of Calaguas local, goofing around with their camp site signage.
I highly recommend travelling with Calaguas Local, not only because of their hassle-free customer service, but also because they support the local community of Calaguas by providing livelihood and jobs for its people.
After the long drive to Daet, you will be 2 hours away from the island by boat. I assure you that all of the travel involved will be worth it once you step on the island!
5 Reasons to Love Calaguas Island
1. Super Fine White Sand
The moment my toes touched the sands and waters of Calaguas, I knew it was love.
The sand is soft and fine; the water, crystal clear. Makes me wish that I’ve seen a lot more of our beaches this way. Far from the exploitations of heartless people.
These are enough reasons for me to go back to Calaguas over and over and over and over again.
2. Scenic Views
Since there aren’t too many people going to Calaguas (yet), the view is yours to enjoy.
There are also rock formations that are nice to look at, climb, experience, and take pictures of.
At night, a beautiful view of the moon and the stars rising above the mountains can be found a few meters away from the beachfront.
Stargazing should definitely be in your itinerary when you go there. P.S. Bring a beach mat for this particular purpose.
3. Different Views of the Majestic Sunset
Who doesn’t love sunsets?
In Calaguas, you won’t just get 1 view of it, but a lot. From the beachfront…
to the mountain view, a few minutes’ trek from the beach…
to a top view of the beachfront sunset…
to a wonderful silhouette of a lonely tree with the wonderful colors of dusk as you walk back to the campsite.
