4. Trekking Sites
There’s a lot more to Calaguas than just the beach and fine sand, too. There are also trekking sites for adventure seekers who can’t stay put.Â
No need for trekking shoes. Your flip flops are good enough for this trek.Â
In 20 minutes, you’ll be having this view. Â Breathtaking, breeze in your hair, bring your picnic mat and have a picnic there if you want to. The place is totally yours to enjoy.Â
There’s a shed for people to rest a bit, too.
And the whole spot is just perfect to jump around, have fun and go trigger-happy. Whether or not you know your photography, the place is just scenic and every view is picture perfect.Â
Aside from the view that’s already posted here, there are other spots to see, too. Their distances aren’t too far away and every drop of sweat you produce is totally worth it.Â
5. Â Camping
Each organizer has a different camp site in Calaguas. Each one has a different toilet and bath area, too.Â
Here in this photo is the one that’s rented by Calaguas Local, ran by the locals. All you have to do is pay Php 10/pail of water to take a bath, take a pee or do number 2.Â
The dining area is very homey, so much more the home-cooked meals they serve. I personally like the Ginataang Octopus (Octopus in Coconut Milk)Â
The camp site is right in front of the beach. In front of the tents are clothes lines for you to hang your wet swimsuits and towels.Â
At first, I thought I’d be totally uncomfortable with camping, but I proved myself wrong. I survived and didn’t even feel one bit eew-ed out by the experience. What a way to go back to the basics, find serenity and be closer to nature. This should totally go into your bucket list of things to do.Â
Book a trip to Calaguas now and experience this one-of-a-kind getaway, whether alone (and then just find new friends there) or with a group.Â
