Meru, the homegrown pop-up cafe and bakery, is thrilled to announce a collaboration with #YKW by EDSA BDG at The Grid, known for its specialty beverages. Together, they introduce a limited-edition menu that creatively interprets beloved Filipino flavors, all while thoughtfully incorporating Japanese elements.

This collaboration with YKW is born from shared philosophies. Both brands craft experiences that are at once creative yet familiar, demonstrating a mutual respect for the market, a commitment to local produce, and a thoughtful integration of Japanese influence. The result is a grounded, intentional, and seamless partnership that celebrates the best of both worlds.
“Each item in this collection embodies nostalgia, layered intention, and perfect balance. We achieve this through the thoughtful integration of Japanese elements–the likes of ceremonial-grade matcha and Japanese whisky–paired with sophisticated, technique-driven components like diplomat cream, artisanal tinctures, and rich coffee saccharum,” explains Meru founder Arianna Kaw.
- Puto Bumbong Cream Puff: Meru’s signature puff reimagined with a Filipino twist. Experience ground rice coconut milk custard folded into a delicate cream, topped with grated cheese, then torched. The flavor profile is a harmonious dance of subtle rice notes, mild sweetness, and a satisfying salty finish.
- Pulvoron Matcha Latte: A comforting embrace of Filipino-Japanese nostalgia. This exquisite latte combines ceremonial-grade matcha with a luscious pulvoron foam and a delightful pinipig garnish. Expect a balanced matcha profile, milky sweetness, and the satisfying crunch of torched pulvoron and pinipig.
- Tiramisu Cream Puff: This features a silky diplomat cream, coffee-infused Japanese whisky, and coffee saccharum, all embracing a perfectly soaked ladyfinger. A rich espresso flavor is beautifully complemented by a gentle warmth of whisky.
- Langka Nori Highball: An adventurous and refreshing concoction. Tropical langka water mingles with Japanese whisky and a subtle nori tincture. The result is a vibrant blend of tropical sweetness, a light oak whisper, and a soft, intriguing briny finish.
