Spoilers for TMNT #95 ahead!

That’s right, bros! There’s a brand new ninja turtle and her name is Jennika. In celebration of the on-going Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series’ 95th issue, IDW finally introduced a new member of the team.

Gizmodo reported that in TMNT #95, which was recently released, Jennika is introduced as a Foot Clan ninja who is mortally stabbed. Cornered, Donatello and Leonardo make the tough decision to transfuse Leo’s blood with Jennika’s which effectively healed her fatal stab wounds and also turned her into a new mutant ninja turtle!

This isn’t the first time the publication has added an additional member to the team. Back in 2012, they added Slash who was originally a rival to the team but ended up being an ally. Aside from Jennika, the 1997 TV series Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation also introduced a female ninja turtle—Venus. Even April O’Neil herself became a Ninja Turtle for one issue, complete with a white headband.

However, it seems like Jennika is going to outlast all of her predecessors. According to TNMT artist Sophie Cambell, plans for Jennika’s character have been in the works for a while now.
