May Forever? Binay Wants Limits of Elected Officials Be Lifted

Jejomar Binay

Vice President Jejomar Binay said that he wants the limits of elected officials in the country be lifted. He said this while on a three-day foray in Bacolod City, Inquirer.net reported.

Binay said the following to the local officials:

Rough translation: I don’t really believe in terms. It should be one to infinity, as long as people want you. If there are amendments in the Constitution, I will ask for the term limitation to be removed. As long as he can be voted, he should be.

In the Constitution, the President is not eligible for reelection after serving a six-year term.

Meanwhile, the Vice President cannot serve two consecutive terms.
