The streets are never truly silent. Between hurried footsteps, jeepney horns, laughter from street corners, and conversations that come and go, countless stories unfold every day. Some are loud enough to be heard, while others quietly wait for someone to listen.
This is where Kalyematopeya Magazine begins.

A portmanteau of the words kalye and onomatopoeia, Kalyematopeya is the 31st volume of the PUP College of Communication’s official magazine, iCommunicate, which explores the sounds, people, and moments that shape everyday Filipino life.
Through feature stories, profiles, photo essays, and visual narratives, the magazine captures voices that often go unnoticed but deserve to be remembered.
For every community has its own rhythm. Every person carries a story. Every nook and cranny holds a significant artifact of the present, awaiting to be unearthed in the future. And every voice leaves an imprint that deserves to be heard.
After a months-long pursuit of the unheard, Kalyematopeya Magazine finally unveils the clarity in the cacophony on July 17, 2026.
Because behind every street is a story.
And behind every story is a voice waiting to be heard.
The streets have been speaking all along.
The streets are ours. The streets are us.
Now, it’s time to listen.
