That’s why I was so excited when I spotted the newly opened Maxwax Studio at SM Aura a couple of weeks ago.
You won’t miss it. The salon’s interiors, visible through the glass, are appealing to any age and taste. It’s a mix of classic and modern — the perfect balance between the familiar and innovative. The quirky design and cool colors attract and instantly invite you to get a closer look or tickle any curious gene inside.
Maxwax  Studio offers a variety of services for both men and women but they specialize in eyebrow design —  which is becoming a hot trend. Well-groomed brows can make a huge difference. Not a lot of people know that your arches are considered to be your most important facial feature because how they look can impact your overall appearance. In Maxwax Studio, you can choose to have them groomed and/or tinted to suit your face.
They also do eyelash perming and extensions if you want to go all out. My friends and I did this especially to complement our Halloween outfits. I believe that eyelash perming is healthier than putting on make-up every day, so it’s an investment a certified girly girl should make. It lasts for as long as least 3 months and costs as much as a tube of mascara, which has just about the same life span.
Apart from the remarkable and interesting design of the place, I would also commend their hygienic practices and precautions. Their rooms are cozy, aromatic, and spotless. I like that the beds are lined with disposable sheets for added protection — a huge plus for the squirmish germaphobe me. As for the waxing service, it was quick, painless (for a wax junkie), and clean.
