“Ang movie natin na Ex Ex Lover ay pangako ko sayo, masaya ako na natupad ko ito. At pati singing career mo, gusto ko mag concert ka ulit. Basta paguusapan namin ni Mark (Jolina’s husband) yan, yan ang next project namin para sayo (Our movie Ex Ex Lover was my promise to you, and I’m happy that I was able to fulfill it. As for your singing career, I want you to have another concert. Mark and I will talk about it—that will be our next project for you),” he wrote.

He also expressed his deep gratitude to the 46-year-old for her understanding, patience, and hard work in achieving her goals and dreams in life.

“I’m very very proud of what you’ve become, wife to Mark and mother to Pele and Vika. Grabe kayo magasawa, model kayo ng mabuting asawa at mabuting magulang. Walang perfect alam natin yan, pero kayo walang tigil maging matino at maayos na tao (You two are incredible as a couple—you’re a model of a good spouse and a great parent. We all know no one is perfect, but you never stop striving to be decent and kind people),” he said.

He added: “I love you labtim, ayan ha, lagi ko ng sinasabi. At mas makahulugan ang pag sabi ko nito ngayon sayo kasi alam na alam ko na ano ang ibig sabihin nito para sa ating dalawa (I say it all the time now. And this time, it holds even more meaning because I truly understand what it means for both of us).”

Both actors have worked as an onscreen couple in classic rom-com flicks such as Flames: The Movie, Hey Babe, and Labs Kita… Okey Ka Lang? Despite not being able to star in another film for over a decade, they were able to maintain a strong and platonic real-life relationship.

The Lavender Fields actress echoed the same sentiment in an Instagram post.

“Thank you sa trust mo sakin tuwing nagkukwento ka ng mga bagay na hindi mo nakukwento sa iba. Andito lang ako para sayo, kahit makikinig lang (whenever you share things you don’t tell anyone else. I’m always here for you, even if it’s just to listen),” she wrote.

She also affirmed that their new film strengthened their friendship and is a project she will be proud of for the rest of her life.

“Alam mo Labtim, hindi man natin lagi makita, naniniwala ako na meron din tayong invisible red string that binds us together (You know, Labtim, even if we don’t always see it, I believe we have an invisible red string that binds us together). Our connection will always be unbreakable,” she shared, adding that she feels blessed for the gift of friendship she has with the actor-entrepreneur.

Directed by JP Habac, the film is set to showcase the iconic love team’s natural on-screen chemistry. The movie will also star Juan Karlos Labajo and Loisa Andalio.

Ex Ex Lovers will premiere in cinemas nationwide on February 12, 2025.
