Cloak and Dagger follows Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers who develop superpowers as they fall in love. The series focuses on them working together, but realize that their developing romance is making it hard to fight crime.

The two first appeared in the March 1982 issue of Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man (#64), and got their own four-issue limited series the following year. It was so successsful that they got their own bi-monthly series in 1985.

Aubrey Joseph plays Johnson and Cloak, and has the power to engulf others in darkness. Olivia Holt plays Bowen and Dagger, and has the power to emit light daggers.

There’s no word yet how the series will tie in to the MCU, which also has TV shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, Inhumans, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher.

Cloak and Dagger will be the only MCU series that will be screened on Freeform, a cable channel in the US. It will premiere in 2018.
