Maris Racal’s film Sunshine is set to compete at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale).

In an Instagram post, Maris expressed her joy over the movie being selected for the prestigious film festival.

“Bringing Sunshine to Berlinale 2025. Grateful for this incredible journey and the chance to share our story on such a prestigious stage,” she wrote.
The sports drama film will be part of the official selection at the Berlinale under the Generation 14plus competition. The Generation 14plus features coming-of-age stories from the youth.
Previously, the Antoinette Jadaone film was part of the Palm Springs International Film Festival. In addition, it received a nomination for Best Youth Film at the 17th Asia Pacific Screen Awards.
Sunshine follows the story of a young gymnast who suddenly discovers she is pregnant on the week of the national team tryouts. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
