Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival: 5 Reasons To Be There On Its 5th Year

Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival: 5 Reasons To Be There On Its 5th Year

Magical. This is perhaps the best word to describe the Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival. On its fifth year now, I was fortunate to have witnessed its previous two years, both of which have been nothing but memorable. This year, the fifth installment of Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival is once again set to attract not only its loyal audience, but also virgins who have always been intrigued by the experiences shared by those who were there in the past years.

The Festival Grounds

Over a span of two weekends – March 6 – 8 and March 13 – 15 – Puerto Galera, named as one of The Most Beautiful Bays in the World, is once again anticipating to host thousands of music, arts, nature, and culture enthusiasts who will be attending the Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival. If you have not booked a ticket yet, let me give you 5 reasons why you should be part of its festive crowd. In a recent press conference held at Sofitel Philippine Plaza, the festival organizers gave a sneak preview of what can be expected, which made all of us even more excited.

5. The Beauty of the Venue

The venue is perhaps the festival’s biggest asset, its pièce de résistance. Held at the mystical Mt. Malasimbo, you will be watching concert performances in a place that is truly unconventional. Throughout the night, you can sit or lie on the natural grass-covered amphitheater, with the stars and the moon hovering above you. There are no VIPs here. You can freely roam around, interact with one another, and make new friends. Even performers are freely roaming around the venue, mingling with the ecstatic crowd.

If your stomach needs a filling, there are food stations ready to give you a unique treat. One that should not be missed is the pan de sal with Malasimbo kesong puti. There are tables and chairs scattered around the dining area where you can eat comfortably, too.

Of course, booze is essential at events as festive as this. There are three bars stationed all over the festival area. The setup of the bars is one more thing you will surely love.

4. The Art Installations

Art is one of the cornerstones of Malasimbo, and this is another reason why you should book your ticket now. On your way to the main stage, you will pass by a sculpture garden, which serves as the canvas of creative and eccentric artists. If you were a staple in the last four years of the festival, you will easily recognize how most of the artworks have been there year after year, yet still exude incessant charm.
