Malasimbo Festival: Another Great Reason to Visit Puerto Galera! Book at Agoda.com for the Best Rooms!

Sabang Puerto Galera Frank Ruaya When in Manila-5

 with our new beach buddy

This weekend, the winds took us to yet another must visit place in the Philippines to re-discover its beauty! You see, you don’t really have to go so far from Manila if you wish to enjoy the beach!

It may seem as though Puerto Galera had lost its luster over the years due to the new destinations being promoted and developed  around the Philippines but to our surprise, we never thought we’d be at awe with what we experienced and guess what? Not only was it able to thrive but also, it has now established itself as a place for fine art and music with the increasing popularity of the annual Malasimbo Arts and Music Festival!

 arriving at Sabang port

This trip was more of a “spur of the moment” type for us. We have been quite spontaneous with most of our trips lately, but we always managed to get there with no hassles! Good thing we found a really great deal at Agoda.com! But next time… please do yourselves a favor and be sure to book early when planning to go to the Malasimbo Festival!

Anyway, great thing Agoda.com has a lot of  partner hotels from the most affordable to the most luxurious! Another great thing about booking at Agoda.com is that it’s soooooo easy to confirm your bookings and it offers the MOST AFFORDABLE rates!! Anyway, we were able to book ourselves at this nice and modest place called Swengland Beach Resort located at Sabang, Puerto Galera. If you’re looking for an affordable place to stay which offers nice clean rooms and good food, then you won’t go wrong with Swengland Beach Resort!

We were famished when we arrived, so first thing we did was to eat! We were surprised to see that they served Indian dishes!

The Malasimbo Festival which is annually held during the 1st of March is indeed a great reason to visit Puerto Galera!

No matter where you are in the island, there will be available roundtrip jeepney services on specific places to take you at Mt. Malasimbo and back to where you’re staying. It costs around P300 roundtrip.

During that night, we were able to witness the set of the legendary Reggae icon Jimmy Cliff!

I’ve been a fan of Jamaican music for a long time and seeing him finally in the flesh was a dream come true!
