Fans of the comic book drama Lucifer were heartbroken and consequently overjoyed when the series was prematurely canceled then later on saved by Netflix. The streaming service rescued the show by giving it a chance to end things the right way: with a fifth and final season.
Now, Deadline and TVLine report that Netflix is in talks with series producer Warner Bros. TV to create even more installments for Lucifer. They are interested in extending the series to a 6th season, and perhaps beyond — details were not clear on exactly how many more episodes or seasons they will be negotiating for
Sources tell Deadline that if an agreement pushes through, the show will go back into production in September. Executive producers Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson are also said to be in favor of doing another season.
Lucifer follows the charismatic Lord of Hell as he aids the LAPD in investigating crimes and taking down criminals. It stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Kevin Alejandro.
