In about two weeks time, The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will be implementing a 1-peso cut on jeepney minimum fares from 10 pesos to 9 pesos because, although fuel prices rose in October, they have gone down since then. This rollback will apply to jeepney fares in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon.
In October, the minimum jeepney fare went up to 10 pesos, but since global oil prices have been going down, price cuts need to be made. This new minimum fare is set to take effect before year end.
