Industrialization has been contributing to national economic growth and development for decades but at the cost of the environment’s condition. To combat this, individuals have moved towards making more sustainable decisions by refusing straws, bringing containers to groceries, and the like. However, the burden of saving the earth should not solely be on the consumers. We need companies to start revolutionary changes within their industries, but they can’t do it alone.
With this, we are introducing the Philippine Innovation Challenge, the very first nationwide competition and summit that provides an avenue for young and bright Filipinos to collaborate with the government, corporations and non-profit organizations towards arriving at concrete holistic business solutions to our nation’s biggest problems. For this year, we have decided to focus on waste management as this is a crucial factor in the battle against climate change.
In partnership with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the University of the Philippines Business Administration Council presents the Philippine Innovation Challenge 2020: Towards a Cleaner Tomorrow. Wildflour Café + Bakery, Bayo, Klean Kanteen, and Ellana Mineral Cosmetics are looking for innovative ideas on how to solve the problem of waste in their respective industries.

On January 25, gain a deeper understanding of the issue of waste management on a national and per industry level through various talks and immersion activities.
On January 26, collaborate with organizations and corporations in multiple breakout and mentoring sessions to guide you in refining your proposed business solution for the problem.
On February 1, pitch your business solution in front of esteemed industry professionals in the hopes that your idea is chosen to be implemented nationwide.
