LOOK: Stunning Photos of Ballet Dancers in the Streets of Mexico

US President-elect Donald Trump once said: “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best.”

Inspired to prove this sentence false, New York photographer Omar Robles set out for a journey to Mexico City by photographing some of the city’s best ballet dancers in what turned out to be a beautiful series. The photography series is about showing a different side of the people of Mexico.

Robles narrates in his blog: “The rhetoric that permeates our times is sadly about division and segregation,” he wrote. “The warmth with which the people of Mexico received me and the dancers as we shot along the streets truly inspired me.”
