LOOK: Nadine Lustre Shares Why Christophe Bariou Feels Like Her “Prince Charming”

Nadine Lustre recently shared a more personal side of her views on love, relationships, and marriage during a guest appearance on Vice Ganda’s vlog. In a relaxed conversation filmed at Disneyland, the actress spoke openly about where she is in life and why her relationship with partner Christophe Bariou feels different for her.

In the vlog, Nadine said she feels secure and at ease in her relationship, even jokingly referring to Christophe as her “Prince Charming.” For her, it’s not about perfection, but about compatibility and how the relationship fits her life now.

“Feeling ko naman (siya na ‘yung Prince Charming). Sana,” Nadine shared. She added that if they were to break up, she doesn’t see herself entering another relationship, explaining that it’s rare for her to find someone who matches her the way Christophe does.

“For me, ang hirap makahanap ng katulad niya,” she said, noting that while he may not be perfect, he feels right for her.

Because of this sense of certainty, Nadine said she’s open to the idea of marriage if and when the timing feels right. She clarified that she’s not rushing into anything, but she’s also not closing doors.

Siguro. Kung mangyayari, eh ‘di go,” she told Vice. “Feeling ko naman kung ano yung nangyayari sa amin ngayon, parang ganoon na siya.”

When the topic shifted to weddings, Nadine was clear about what she doesn’t want. Rather than a traditional church ceremony, she prefers something more low-key and intimate.

Gusto ko lang by the lake, by the ocean with close friends,” she shared, adding that she imagines a simple celebration followed by a party. She also admitted that she never really dreamed of having a grand wedding.

Nadine also reflected on how her perspective on marriage has evolved over time. While she once imagined settling down in her early 20s, her priorities changed as she grew older.

“In my teen years, sabi ko noon na kapag 20 ako, ikaakasal na ako,” she recalled. But as she reached her 20s and then her 30s, she realized she was still enjoying life and focusing on personal growth.

Now in her 30s, Nadine described her relationship with Christophe as one rooted in security, independence, and shared growth. She explained that while they support each other, they also continue to work on themselves individually.

Kami kasi we are both focused on working on ourselves,” she said, adding that they are also growing together through shared business ventures and future plans.

She also noted how different this relationship feels compared to her past ones, particularly when it comes to trust and security.

Hindi ko alam pero nafe-feel ko lang na secure ako sa kaniya,” Nadine said, admitting that while she still has moments of paranoia, they’re no longer rooted in the relationship itself.

When asked about the biggest lesson she has learned about love, Nadine emphasized the importance of not losing oneself in a relationship.

Unahin mo ang sarili,” she said, stressing that love should be balanced and reciprocated. For her, effort should go both ways, not just from one person.

Reflecting on past experiences, Nadine shared that she’s learned to walk away when a relationship feels draining or one-sided. In contrast, she described her current relationship as one where both partners support and uplift each other.

Parang we fill each other’s glasses,” she explained.

Nadine also touched on the idea of fighting for love. While she values self-respect and independence, she admitted that for the right person, she would be willing to take risks.

“Worth naman siya,” she said, adding that some relationships are worth putting your pride aside for.
