Tanghalang Pilipino is going to stage a new musical based on a local epic hero, and actor JC Santos is going to star in it!
The musical will be a retelling of the Ilokano Filk Epic “Biag ni Lam-ang” which is notable for being the first to ever be recorded in written form. JC Santos will star as the titular character and judging by how he looks in the official poster, he’s definitely going to slay it!
“This is my first time to play a lead role in a musical, and I’m very excited,” he told ABS-CBN News. “Very excited to go back to my first love—theater.”
Cast alongside JC is Anna Luna who is well-loved for her role in hit musical “Changing Partners” and will play Lam-ang’s love interest Ines Kannoyan.
Other cast members have yet to be announced.
