A few days ago, GMA Network star Tom Rodriguez was surprised to find his name trending on social media. But he found out soon enough why!
Apparently, popular Japanese voice actor, Subaru Kimura, who is known for voicing Takeshi Goda from Doraemon and Satoshi Tendo from Haikyuu!!, suddenly tweeted a photo of Tom during the local evening news program 24 Oras. Kimura found his resemblance to Tom so uncanny that he joked, “Eh, me?” as if he was watching himself on the television screen.

Tom then posted on his own Instagram account his reaction to Kimura’s tweet after getting so many private messages about it.
“May doppelganger pala ako sa Japan,” he said. “Nagulat ako ng mapacheck sa messages at requests ko na puno ng DMs tungkol dito…kinabahan ako nung umpisa kasi di ko alam kung bakit maraming messages. Nagtataka ako kung ano nagawa ko…whew!”
[“Apparently, I have a doppelganger in Japan. I was surprised when I checked my messages and DM requests about this…I was worried at first because I didn’t know why I was getting so many messages. I was wondering what I did wrong…whew!”]
He also found out that Kimura was a rapper apart from being a voice actor and joked that it was a sign that he should pursue that career too. “Rapper din pala kambal ko. Pahiwatig na siguro ng diyos (My twin is also a rapper. Maybe it’s a sign from God),” he added.
