We first got to chat with Regala in 2022, fresh off her back-to-back features in British Vogue and Tatler UK. In fact, her bridal studio, Aoui Regala Atelier, appeared not just in one, but in four issues of Tatler UK that year. As it turns out, that was just the beginning of her rise to stardom in the international fashion scene. Since then, Aoui Regala has been featured in more renowned global publications including Glamour Magazine, Vogue Philippines, and, just recently, Vanity Fair.

“The first one to email me was Tatler UK,” Aoui told us in our previous interview. “I was invited, that’s why I was over the moon when they emailed me to be a part of their prestigious magazine.”

Regala’s feature in Vanity Fair appeared in its 30th annual Hollywood issue last March 2024, where actors Bradley Cooper, Natalie Portman, Pedro Pascal, and Colman Domingo grace the cover.

Vanity Fair wrote praises for Regala:

“Aoui Regala is a bridal couture house whose classic yet modern aesthetic is an artist’s labour of love. The brand’s designs are characterised by clean stitches and precise pattern construction.”

As to why she thinks her brand stood out and caught the eye of such prestigious publications among a pool of so many talents, Regala simply responded, “For sure alam nila yung gawa na may puso.” [For sure they can recognize work that’s made from the heart.]

To Aoui Regala, the satisfaction of her clients is still at the core of her work—not recognition, not money. “Ultimately, we want all our brides to be happy,” she shared. “I want to leave a lasting legacy and a mark that we worked with integrity and passion to raise the bar higher always.”

Aoui Regala Atelier is known for its minimalist designs, but with character. For Regala, minimalism doesn’t have to be boring. She likes to play around with classic designs infused with modern elements, and detailing that are mostly hand-sewn.

Regala said, “Our clients love the style and most especially the clean stitches and fit. They always say that even my simplest designs stand out because of the silhouette, fit, and carefully thought-out details.”

For Regala, it’s important for her atelier to uphold the art of couture, which is why she designs each piece to uniquely fit her clients’ visions and specifications. “No two designs are alike,” she told us. “Each [piece] has its own story and flavor.”

Talking more about her process, Regala shared that she makes an effort to get to know her brides, and from there create a design that she feels will suit them well, fused with the brand’s own style.

“An Aoui Regala bride gets to experience the real meaning of couture,” Regala proudly shared.
