Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray took to Instagram to share a photo of herself without wearing any makeup as part of a social media challenge which encourages women to reveal their bare faces online.

“This is the skin I wake up in every day,” Catriona said in her post. “I love playing with makeup and being glam, but I’ve also grown to love the skin I wake up in acne scars, moles and all.”
“I too have days where I don’t feel confident, or my insecurities are louder…but that’s okay. Loving yourself as you are is a journey, but it’s a journey worth taking,” she added.
She then nominated her fellow Pinay beauty queens, Nicole Cordoves and Sandra Lemonon, to join the #AsSheIs challenge.
Previously, Catriona had her own struggle with her self-confidence after a Thai Beauty Queen publicly called her “fat.” In a spontaneous Q&A she hosted on Twitter last July, she shared her thoughts about online bullying and body shaming.

“Obviously I stand firmly against any form of bullying and bashing – online and off. It is never, ever okay to put someone down for the sake of ‘expressing your opinion’. With words [comes] power and we should be using those words to build someone up and not pull them down,” she said in a Tweet.
“Bodyshaming is hurtful and [should] never be tolerated. If anyone reading this too has been bodyshamed, I know how it feels. Iโm sorry youโve had to experience that. But [know] that you are more than your appearance. You are a capable, unique and worthy person. And you are never alone,” she continued.
