Carlo Aquino is all set to star in his first-ever international movie project and has been undergoing stunt training in Tokyo to prepare for his role, as seen in pictures sent to WhenInManila.com.
Carlo, together with his co-stars Takehiro Hira and Sho Ikushima, was trained by professional Japanese Mix Martial Artists. It also seemed like Carlo went all out in the training, giving his 100%, that he actually injured his hand while shooting an intense fight scene with Sho Ikushima. However, it wasn’t revealed to the cast and crew until the shooting for the scene had ended.

“It was halfway through the action scene when he realized he hurt his hand. He didn’t stop, he continued his sublime performance so his emotions will look raw. Nobody knew that he was in pain. Just as soon as the scene ended, that’s when he told everyone he hurt his hand,” a source told WhenInManila.com regarding the news.
“We took immediate action by sending him to the hospital with our team and producer to make sure he was okay. Luckily, it was nothing serious. He injured his hand due to his top-notch performance. Our team called the day off so our actor can rest and recuperate from his minor injury.”
The cast and crew were so blown away by Carlo’s “professionalism” following the incident and praised the Filipino actor for his dedication to the role. “What we’re impressed about is how Carlo handled the situation with so much professionalism. He even apologized to his workmates for hurting his hand and that he caused some delay,” the source added.
Directing the action-drama-thriller film, which has yet to be named, is Donie Ordiales. Also joining Carlo is Filipino-Japanese star Kei Kurosawa.
This is Carlo’s latest project after “I Love Lizzyy” with Barbie Imperial, “Expensive Candy” with Julia Barretto, and his TV series “How To Move on in 30 Days” with Maris Racal.
