LOOK: Bela Padilla is raising 1 Million Pesos to feed street vendors around Metro Manila

Among all the bad news, the good news shines brightest. In this case, TV and movie actress Bela Padilla is shining with her compassionate heart in social media.

One of the biggest questions about the enhanced community quarantine is how the daily wage earners will be able to survive if they are being instructed to stay indoors for a month.

Half an hour past midnight on Monday, March 16, Bela Padilla tweeted about a “solution” that she came up with in light of the rising problems and overlooked factors in Metro Manila’s community quarantine.

“The best solution I came up with is for us to donate. I set up an account, and whatever money we do raise, let’s split 16 ways for the 16 cities of metro Manila affected by this community quarantine. I will personally see to it that the money we raise will go to the right people.”

In another tweet, she shared the link to a Go Get Funding page entitled, “pagkain para sa pinoy”. Bela also included a photo of a taho vendor sitting in front of empty streets with the text, “Paano na sila?”

She’s targetting to raise one million pesos by March 31, 2020. As of writing, she has already raised more than PHP 300,000.
