Being the foodies that we are, our trip would not be complete without going around town discovering all the yummy eats Lipa’s people go nuts over, with chef Pol as our official tour guide. He also arranges foodie trips like these for Lima Park Hotel guests; so don’t hesitate to approach them about it during your stay.
Yummy bowls of Batangas goto for only 50-70 pesos. Sulit!
One of the key stops in our food trip included a local carinderia that served piping hot bowls of savory Batangas goto – which does not have rice in it; Batangas’ version of goto is broth of beef and pig innards eaten pares style with rice on the side.

Lipa is a great place to get fresh honey. A couple of bee farms along the hillside sell bottled honey free of any preservatives and additives, they even let you try out honey freshly sliced off the honeycomb, with a side of bumblebee if you’re lucky.

Another was an eatery off the side of the road that had absolutely divine suman latik: sticky and coconutty with a side of brown sugar syrup, yummy!
Yet the highlight of our day-long food trip definitely had to be Lomi King’s thick and rich specialty lomi! Topped with lots of kikiam and meat balls, Lomi King’s big bowl of lomi was satisfaction in every spoonful. Never have I tried lomi this thick and filling, this sets Lipa lomi apart from anywhere else in the region.
Lipa Lomi is best eaten with Bonete fresh out of the oven. These perfect little morsels of sweet, buttery and salty goodness were a favorite among the WIM crew; we were guilty of finishing an entire bag (around 30 pieces) of them during a 15-minute car ride.
