An honest letter carrier of San Mateo Post Office Municipal named Ruben Gregorio was praised by the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) and his co-workers for returning a lost wallet containing PHP8,000 and valid IDs.
The wallet was owned by Romeo Nabo, a teacher from Dulong Bayan Elementary School in San Mateo, Rizal. According to Juliet Dawila Otadoy, the acting Postmaster (PM) of the San Mateo Post Office, Gregorio immediately returned the wallet upon finding it at the post office. Then, they contacted Nabo, who personally claimed his belongings.
“We are proud that PHLPost honors him for a job well done”, Otadoy said.
Postmaster General (PMG) Luis Carlos also expressed his appreciation for Gregorio’s honesty, “Our employees prove time and again that the culture of honesty is truly present in all post offices and remote areas of the country.”
“A simple achievement like this will set a bigger example for others to emulate,” he added.
