Poblacion is currently one of the hippest places in the Metro. Not only is it home to boutique restaurant and bars, it is quickly becoming a home for artists and creatives as well.
The newest place in the neighborhood? Kondwi. A new art gallery plus bar rolled into one, making it an ideal hangout space not only for artists to explore and share works, but for everyone to socialize and have a good night out in one of the best neighborhoods in the city.

Kondwi is the brainchild of actor Marvin Agustin, contemporary Filipino fine artist Leeroy New, and entrepreneur Vince Golangco, along with their other creative partners Jinggoy Buensuceso, Rhiza Pascua, and Jane Cruz-Walker. A play on the word “conduit”, Kondwi came to life after this team of collaborators wanted to create a space in Poblacion where everyone could come together, and where art could be made accessible for everyone. Every art piece displayed in Kondwi is up for purchase, if you wish you take them home.
From the outside, Kondwi looks plain—but don’t let this fool you. Its façade, despite looking plain, is sure to draw attention as it stands out. Upon entering, the beautiful interiors will welcome you. The main floor, which houses the restobar, is adorned with quirky installations and uniquely-designed furniture.

Even their food has a touch of art in it—they serve Filipino food with a twist, and they offer unique, exciting flavors.

The second floor is an art space, where exhibits and events can be held. Kondwi has already hosted in-house art events, such as exhibits and performance art.

Leeroy New, Kondwi’s creative director, wanted it to be a safe space for unique ideas that refuse to be bound by limits. Kondwi offers three spaces for art exhibits: the exterior, where artists can showcase their works outside the building including the façade; the main floor; and the upper floor.

Kondwi recently held the NOVA Awards exhibit, where the entries of the finalists of the MullenLowe NOVA Awards 2019 were showcased. And last weekend, they held a Floral Bouquet Workshop by CORA MINA Floral Boutique and a DIY Terrarium Workshop by Terra Bomba, along with a Pop-Up Plant Bazaar.
With their innovative take on dining and drinking, Kondwi sure serves as a conduit for dinner, drinks, art, and conversations.
