I have always been curious about celebrity fitness and despite knowing that most of them probably go to the doctor for a little nip/tuck, I wanted to try Kim Kardashian’s Waist Training Corsets after seeing her waist training selfie. After all who would not want to have Kim Kardashian’s waist?
Kim Kardashian’s Waist Training Corsets
The only problem I have with waist trainers is that I don’t really like wearing constricting things around my waist (I live in baggy sweaters and cozy cardigans) and after further research, I found that waist trainers should be worn at least 8 hours a day for it to be effective. Another problem that came to light is that I usually have a hard time following anything that is remotely similar to a diet, but since I wanted to see if waist training really worked, I decided to go for it.
After making sure that I was ready to follow through with the training, I got slimming corsets similar to Kim Kardashian’s Waist Training Corsets from Carla of @slimmingcorsetsph. After measuring my waist and sending her my measurements, I received two corsets after a few days: one in latex and one in polyester.
Her online shop already has a celebrity following. Actresses Bianca King and Solenn Heussaff are among her many celebrity clients.
Carla, who also wears waist trainers, recommended that I wear the latex corset for 4 to 6 hours daily and wear the polyester for the remainder of the day (yes, you can actually sleep in them). This is what my experience has been like so far:
Day 1: 5 hours (Latex waist trainer – Waist size: 29 inches)
I actually made the mistake of eating breakfast before wearing the latex corset, so I had to wear it in the middle of the day after my food settled down.
The corset did not hurt. In fact, it immediately made my 29-inch waist look tiny. Also, I was forced to sit straight and since my posture is terrible, I was excited to see if it would also help my posture.
The first hour was a little uncomfortable because I could feel my body adjusting to it, but after an hour, I was good to go. Unfortunately, I had a hard time sleeping with the polyester waist trainer, though, so I decided to wear it on a different day instead.
Day 2: 8 hours (Polyester waist trainer – Waist size: 29 inches)
I woke up half an hour earlier than usual to get ready for work because I wanted to make sure that I had enough time to put on the polyester trainer for work. It took about 5 minutes to get the trainer on (the polyester one is a size smaller than the latex one) and I decided to wear a slightly more body-hugging top than what I usually wear. I was surprised to see that the waist trainer was undetectable and I was happy to see that my waist looked extra tiny.
Once I got to work, I received compliments from friends saying that it seems like I had lost weight (yes, ladies, they did not notice that I had a corset on). My posture was amazing that day. I sat up straight and did not get any back pain from sitting around as I typed away doing what I had to do at work.
Lunch time came and I ate a few bites until I couldn’t take it anymore (after doing some research, this happens due to the fact that I had a waist trainer on, which goes to show that you will be somewhat forced to eat a little, so that your waist will be proportioned to your body.)
When I got home, I took off the corset and was surprised to see that my posture remained perfect and that my waist had a dip in it.
Day 3: More or less 12 hours (Latex and Polyester waist trainer – Waist size 29 inches)
I decided to wear the latex corset to work and felt really good about it until I started sweating at around the 4-hour mark. I felt really uncomfortable, so I had to take it off during my last break. I suggest that you only wear the latex waist trainer when you go running or when you go to the gym.
When I got home, I opted to wear the polyester waist trainer to make up for the hours I went without it. I also slept in it and did not have a hard time.
Day 4: 7.5 hours (Polyester waist trainer – Waist size 28.5 inches)
I was surprised to see a 0.5-inch loss seeing as it was only my fourth day of waist training, but I was happy to have lost even just a 0.5-inch. So far, I can say that the waist trainer has helped changed my eating habits and has made me eat much less than what I am usually used to.
My rice intake was cut in half and I cannot drink carbonated drinks anymore. Also, I go to the bathroom a lot more frequently.
Day 5: Overnight (Polyester waist trainer – Waist size: 28.5 inches)
I decided not to wear a waist trainer to work because I noticed that it made me pee a lot (sorry, TMI). I wore the polyester waist trainer the minute I got home, though, and slept in it, as well.
Day 6: 6 hours (Polyester waist trainer- Waist size: 28 inches)
By day 6, I was so used to wearing the waist trainer that it only took me around 2 minutes to wear it. I felt more confident and I could really feel a dip in my waist. Also, my tighter shirts started to feel a lot better. Seeing as I am sometimes self-conscious, though, I decided to wear a baggy sweater to work.
Also, did I mention that I had already lost an inch around my waist?
Day 7: 5.5 hours (Latex waist trainer – Waist size 28 inches)
I had to go to a children’s party, so I decided to wear the latex waist trainer since trying to chase around my 3-year-old godbrother was a workout in itself and the latex waist trainer would have given the said “workout” a boost, and it sure did.
After a week of wearing the waist trainers, I can say that they definitely helped speed up my weight loss process, while also giving me a more defined waist. Waist training and a healthy diet is the perfect combination to lose weight because the waist trainer will stop you from overeating and help you sweat out the fat even without working out.
