Award-winning actress Kathryn Hahn is set to join the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of “Tangled.”

On March 11 (Philippine time), Kathryn shared that she would play the iconic role of Mother Gothel.
In an Instagram reel, she wore a graphic shirt that featured the image of the Disney villain, confirming the exciting news.

“Hey! OOTD. Just found out what it stands for. So, here’s my outfit of the day. Simple jeans, glasses, t-shirt, it is easy. You know, just another day,” she said.
Following the playful announcement, Disney’s official account commented: “We are all tangled up in excitement!
Meanwhile, Donna Murphy, the Tony Award-winning-actress who voiced Mother Gothel in the animated film, wrote: “”KATHRYN !! From one Mother to another … Congrats! And remember… I love you MOST.”
Mother Gothel is an old, manipulative, and vain woman who serves as the animated film’s main antagonist.
In January 2026, Disney announced that young actors Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim will play the roles of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, respectively.
Kathryn Hahn is a renowned actress and comedian best known for her roles in “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” “Step Brothers,” and “We’re the Millers.” She is also the lead actress who voiced in two films of the “Hotel Transylvania” franchise, as well as “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.”
She joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe by playing the role of Agatha Harkness in “WandaVision” and its spin-off “Agatha All Along.”
