The 7.2ft, 16-year-old basketball prodigy is said to be leaving the Philippines to start training in the U.S.
Despite offers in the Philippines and even from Spain and Germany, Kai Sotto will be leaving his blossoming career. He expressed that he wants to join the NBA in 2021 or 2022 and he really wants to focus on training for that.
His blossoming career at Ateneo de Manila High School led the Blue Eaglets to finish as the runner-up of the 81st season of the UAAP where he also gained an MVP Award.
Kai also expressed that the decision is not only for his personal growth, but also for the national team who announced that Kai will be a part of the team’s training pool for the 2023 FIBA World Cup that will be held in the Philippines.
