With Spider-Man: Far From Home currently out in theaters, Marvel fans are itching to find out what happens next to our favorite heroes in the MCU. There have been photos from the Black Widow set circling the internet and Anthony Mackie has spoken about becoming Captain America a couple of times now, but there haven’t been definite announcements yet.

This week, it’s been reported by The Wrap that Derek Kolstad has joined the writing team for upcoming TV series “Falcon and the Winter Soldier”. Kolstad is known for being the brain behind the “John Wick” trilogy starring Keanu Reeves.

The series stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan in the titular roles and will reportedly start filming in August. It will most likely focus on Sam Wilson aka Falcon’s transition into becoming the new Captain America. Along with Mackie and Stan, Emily VanCamp and Daniel Bruhl will also reprise their roles as Sharon Carter and Helmut Zemo.

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige shared recently that the Disney+ Marvel series will tie in with the ongoing narrative of the MCU movies. We’ll most likely get more MCU news at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con that’s happening this July.

“Falcon and the Winter Soldier” is set to premiere sometime in August 2020.
