Janno Gibbs Issues Statement on Ronaldo Valdez’s Passing

Janno Gibbs confirmed the passing of his father, veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez, via Instagram.  “It is with great sorrow that I confirm my father’s passing,” the comedian stated.

Furthermore, Gibbs wrote on behalf of his family that they “would like to request that you respect our privacy in our grieving moment.”

He also acknowledged those who grieve with them as he ended the post saying, “Your prayers and condolences are much appreciated.”

Janno Gibbs and Ronaldo Valdez are set to release their upcoming father-and-son film in January 2024, a project they worked on together and Janno’s first directorial job. The two also starred side-by-side in the 1995 movie “I Love You Sabado!!!” and the 2021 movie “Mang Jose.”

Among Valdez’s most notable performances on the big screen were “Seven Sundays” with Aga Muhlach, Dingdong Dantes, Cristine Reyes, and Enrique Gil; “The Mistress” with John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo; and “Cedie” with Tom Taus, Jaclyn Jose, and Carlo Aquino. He also portrayed beloved characters on TV in the shows “Full House” starring Heart Evangelista and Richard Gutierrez; “My Girl” starring Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson; and “2 Good 2 Be Truestarring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.

The Quezon City Police Department (QCPC) first confirmed Ronaldo Valdez’s passing on Sunday evening, December 17.
