Veteran Actor Ronaldo Valdez Passes Away at 76

Veteran Filipino actor Ronaldo Valdez has passed away at the age of 76. 

According to ABS-CBN News, the Quezon City Police Department (QCPC) confirmed his passing on Sunday, December 17. The cause of his death has yet to be disclosed.

He starred in several films and television series, including Seven SundaysThe Mistress, Cedie, May Minamahal, Mula Sa Puso, and FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

The veteran actor was also the first Filipino to portray Colonel Sanders in KFC advertisements. Among his recent roles was “Lolo Sir” in the 2022 romantic comedy series 2 Good 2 Be True, which starred Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.

Valdez is survived by his wife, Maria Fe Gibbs, and his children, actor-comedian Janno Gibbs and actress-singer Melissa Gibbs.
