Two down, ARMYs! J-Hope has been officially discharged from the military service! The BTS member completed his mandatory military service today, October 17.
As seen in a live broadcast on Korean media, J-Hope was welcomed by Jin. He also delivered a speech, expressing his gratitude for completing his military service in good health.
“First of all, thank you so much. I completed my service in good health. I’m really grateful,” he said, as translated by Soompi.
“During my one year and six months of military life, I served as an instructor, so I went on many marches. Every time, I saw many citizens of Wonju. I want to convey my gratitude to the citizens of Wonju who always greeted me and supported me. It was very touching.”
J-Hope praised the dedication and hard work of the soldiers he observed during his service.
“What I really felt over the past one year and six months is the immense dedication and hard work of the soldiers who protect our country. They are doing so much for the nation. I feel as if it will be meaningful to give those people warm interest and love,” he added.
He was the second BTS member, after Jin, to enlist in the military in April 2023. RM, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are currently fulfilling their military service. BTS is expected to reunite as a group in 2025.
