It looks like the world of Monsters, Inc. might not be done yet. A recent report by The Wall Street Journal mentioned that Pixar Animation Studios is working on a third film in the Monsters, Inc. franchise.

The project was referenced in a profile of Pixar’s chief creative officer, Pete Docter. For now, details about the film are still under wraps.
The report noted that the project is currently in early development, and information about the story, director, cast, or possible release date has not been shared.
Monsters, Inc. premiered in 2001 and introduced audiences to Sulley and Mike, two monsters who work at a company that powers their city by collecting children’s screams.
Since then, the franchise has expanded with Monsters University in 2013, a prequel that explored how the two characters first met during their college years. The story later continued with Monsters at Work, an animated series that premiered on Disney+ in 2021.
