Is Emma Roberts Playing Britney Spears in Upcoming Biopic?

Universal Pictures reportedly bought the movie rights to Britney Spears’ best-selling memoir “The Woman in Me” earlier this month. Reports also say that the planned Britney Spears biopic will be developed and directed by “Crazy Rich Asians” director Jon Chu! Following this story, Britney Spears’ former longtime assistant Felicia Culotta expressed her thoughts on the Britney Spears biopic casting.

Emma Roberts would be a good choice to play Britney Spears in the movie adaptation, Felicia Culotta told TMZ. When asked about her thoughts on the possibility, Emma Roberts admitted she’s always dreamed of taking on the role. She told Cosmo, “It’s my true dream to play Britney Spears. It’s a rumor, but I hope maybe it’ll come true.”

“I remember I locked myself in my room and listened to In the Zone and said, ‘I cannot leave this room until I memorize every word’,” Emma Roberts added. “I sing Britney to my son in the bath all the time. I’m always like, ‘God, he must think I’m so weird.’ That’s some millennial parenting.”

Aside from suggesting Emma Roberts as Britney Spears in “The Woman in Me” film adaptation, Felicia Culotta also proposed “Charlie’s Angels” star Drew Barrymore to portray her and “Dune” star Timothee Chalamet to play Justin Timberlake.

Published in October 2023, “The Woman In Me” narrates Britney Spears’ rise from child star to mega-pop icon. It also talks a lot about Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s relationship, as well as the legal battles she went through.
